West Coast Blues Camp June 23 & 24 at The Blue Note Grill

Durham, NC – The West Coast Blues Camp featuring the West Coast Blues All-Stars takes place Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 at The Blue Note Grill in Durham. Tickets are available as a Single Day Pass for $29 ($35 day of show) or Weekend Pass $44 ($50 day of show) and both include lunch.

The two day event features West Coast Blues All-Stars featuring Junior Watson (guitar) with Tommy Harkenrider (guitar), Mike Turturro (Bass), and Ben Hernandez (harp). Watson has played and recorded with Big Mama Thornton, George Smith, Jimmy Rogers, Shakey Jake, Luther Tucker, Charlie Musselwhite, Kim Wilson, William Clark, and more.

The Saturday afternoon clinic is a roundtable West Coast Blues session moderated by local musician Lenny Terenzi from 12-3pm. Saturday evening, Junior Watson performs with the All-Stars from 8-11pm. Saturday evening show tickets are available, $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Sunday afternoon features a guitar clinic with Junior Watson from 1-3pm followed by an all-star jam featuring all the camp players and even a few local sit-ins.

There will also be a silent auction for a ONE-OF-A-KIND HAND CRAFTED by Dan Dunham, Junior Watson's Luthier. Special Edition West Coast Blues Camp "Junior Junior" Model Guitar. Junior will play AND sign it! How do you get a shot at it?

Just named INDY Best of the Triangle 2012 as finalists for Best Place for Jazz and Blues, Best Place for Country and Bluegrass, and Music before 10PM, The Blue Note Grill in Durham, owned by Bill and Andrea Whittington, combines nightly live music with a Southern-style menu that includes barbecue, ribs and burgers. The Blue Note Grill opens M-F at 11am and Saturday at 4pm. Closed on Sunday, excepting special events.
