| Shows“A Bluegrass Kinda Christmas” is coming to Raleigh, December 15th–17th, Hosted by Balsam Range By: Cindy Faulkner
North Carolina’s own, Balsam Range, will be hosting “A Bluegrass Kinda Christmas” festival December 15th – 17th at the Hilton North Raleigh/Midtown Resort hotel. Join us to hear your favorite traditional and contemporary bluegrass bands including Darrell Webb Band, The Grascals, Nothin’ Fancy, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage and Flatt Lonesome. We have local favorites: Sideline, The Grass Cats and The Outliers performing as well.
“Tomorrow’s Bluegrass Stars” will participate in their own showcase over the three days with some of the most talented young people in the business. Plan to shop more than 30 arts and crafts vendors in “Santa’s Workshop” for your most special Christmas gifts. Do you play an instrument or just like to listen? We will have jam sessions throughout the hotel with several rooms assigned specifically for jamming. The members of Balsam Range will be conducting informative workshops Friday and Saturday.
Friday’s workshops are at 11:00 am with Marc Pruett (banjo), Buddy Melton (fiddle) and Caleb Smith (guitar). Saturday’s workshops are at 11:00 am with Tim Surrett (bass/dobro) and Darren Nicholson (mandolin). Any festival ticket holder is welcome to register for a workshop by emailing your name and which workshop you would like to attend firstname.lastname@example.org.

FYI: We are working with WUNC right now, and may be coordinating a live on air appearance Friday at noon. If so, the workshop schedules will be altered.
